Drift Study - June 19, 2007

Drifters were released on a flood tide in a transect between Kendall Head and Cummings Cove. All drifters moved downstream at first. Drifters 3 and 5 got caught in the eddies off Harris Point and remained there for the entire trial. The pathway taken by Drifter 2 demonstrates the eddy that forms to the north of Kendall Head. Drifters 1 and 4 continued up the river but were both affected by the downstream currents of the St. Croix River.
